I'm announcing my bid for the Progressive Conservative Party nomination in Kildonan—River East, in preparation for the next provincial election on October 3, 2023.

Manitobans are being battered by high inflation and rising living costs, and a health care system that can no longer keep up with even our basic needs. It is also a time of great economic upheaval, and we need to put in place policies that create the next generation of new jobs that will keep our young people here and grow our economy.

Our Party has been in power for almost seven years, and provided the necessary leadership that helped get us through some very difficult times. However, renewal – of people, ideas, solutions, and energy – is always a good thing, as we strive to do more, and to do it better, to make Manitoba an even greater place to live, grow, and raise a family.

I’m running for the PC Party nomination in Kildonan—River East because I want to be part of our party’s renewal, contribute my own ideas and energy, and to be a strong representative for the people of Kildonan-River East and all of Manitoba.

I bring to this challenge a lifetime of hard work and activism for the Party. I’ve been working on Conservative election campaigns for nearly twenty years, and have worked well with people of all political stripes in focusing on what’s best for our city, province and country. I’ve also been a dedicated and hard-working small business owner in Winnipeg for almost a decade and know the challenges others like me face.

We need to create more good new jobs and grow our economy. We need to fight drug fuelled violent crime in our neighbourhoods. We need to ensure that the mental health and addictions supports are there for those who need them, supported by a strong health care system with increased federal funding. We need to make life more affordable. And we need to continue to move down the path of reconciliation together with our Indigenous brothers and sisters, from whom I have learned from and changed my mind on so much over the past decade.

At the core though, this is about people. I’m running on behalf of the single mother who is skipping meals and struggling to put food on the table for her kids. I’m running for the grandfather waiting months or even years for basic surgery to relieve his pain and live a dignified life. I’m running for the business owner that needs government to get out of the way and remove red tape.

And, most importantly, I’m running to ensure voters have a strong voice in the legislature that isn’t afraid to stand up for them.

I am known as a man of honesty and integrity –  one who keeps his word, earns peoples’ respect, and always tries to do the right thing. It is these values I will continue to bring to the table, and why I hope to have the opportunity to serve the people of Kildonan—River East and move our province forward.

Our party needs to be strong and unified to win the next election, defeat the radical NDP’s controversial ideas that would set us back, and continue to serve Manitobans. I will work hard to do this and to bring our Party together and bridge our divides.
